Neuromodulation

A Neuromodulation Fellowship is a specialized program designed for doctors who wish to advance their knowledge and expertise in the field of neurotherapeutics, with a specific focus on device-based interventions such as spinal cord stimulation, deep brain stimulation, vagus nerve stimulation, and intrathecal drug delivery systems. During the fellowship, doctors will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced neurologists, neurosurgeons, and pain specialists to develop their skills in the diagnosis and management of complex neurological and chronic pain conditions.

Through a combination of clinical rotations, didactic lectures, and simulation-based training, fellows will gain a comprehensive understanding of the latest advances in neuromodulation, including patient selection, device programming, troubleshooting, and long-term follow-up care. Fellows will learn how to evaluate complex cases, tailor individualized treatment plans, and integrate neuromodulation into multidisciplinary care pathways.

During the fellowship, doctors will also work with patients requiring highly specialized treatments, such as those with movement disorders, refractory epilepsy, severe depression, chronic neuropathic pain, and spinal cord injury–related pain. Fellows will enhance their ability to communicate effectively with patients and families, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.

At the completion of the Neuromodulation Fellowship, doctors will be well-prepared to pursue a career in neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, or pain medicine with specialized expertise in neuromodulation therapies. They will be equipped to make complex clinical decisions, manage challenging cases, and contribute to research and innovation in the field of neuromodulation.
