Transseptal Access & Structural Navigation Masterclass

A two-day, simulation-based masterclass at ADN CoE dedicated to mastering transseptal access and navigation for advanced structural heart interventions.

Training Overview

Transseptal Access & Structural Navigation Masterclass is an advanced, simulation-based educational program designed for interventional cardiologists and imaging specialists aiming to refine their skills in safe and precise transseptal puncture and catheter navigation for structural heart interventions. This two-day intensive training at ADN CoE Training, Research Center & Core Lab provides comprehensive instruction on the anatomical, imaging, and technical aspects of transseptal access and device navigation across various transcatheter procedures, including TEER, LAAC, TMVR, and TTVR.

The program begins with detailed sessions on interatrial septal anatomy, fluoroscopic and echocardiographic landmarks, and transseptal techniques using both mechanical and RF puncture systems. Participants learn to identify optimal puncture sites based on procedural goals and anatomical variations, guided by 2D and 3D TEE, fluoroscopy, and intracardiac echocardiography (ICE).

Through simulation-based learning, attendees will perform hands-on transseptal punctures and navigation maneuvers on high-fidelity cardiac models replicating realistic cath lab conditions. These workshops emphasize needle orientation, sheath manipulation, pressure confirmation, and wire advancement under expert supervision, ensuring participants develop both confidence and precision.

The course also covers complication management, including recognition and prevention of pericardial effusion, aortic root puncture, and septal tears. Interactive sessions and case-based reviews provide insights into challenging anatomies, post-procedure evaluation, and advanced navigation strategies for left atrial and left ventricular interventions.

Faculty-led discussions will explore cutting-edge imaging fusion techniques, 3D mapping integration, and future directions in structural navigation. By the end of the training, participants will have gained both theoretical knowledge and practical mastery in transseptal access and navigation—crucial for all structural heart interventions.
