Thyroid and Prostatic Embolization Workshop
A one-day, case-based program at ADN CoE focused on practical thyroid and prostatic embolization, fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided targeting, and safety decision-making in endocrine, urological, and interventional settings.

Training Overview
Thyroid & Prostatic Embolization Training is a focused, case-based educational program designed to strengthen clinical decision-making and technical proficiency in image-guided transcatheter embolization for thyroid (goiter, hypervascular tumors) and prostatic (benign prostatic hyperplasia - BPH) conditions. This one-day training combines core vascular anatomy, patient selection criteria, and interactive case analyses to support safe and effective endovascular interventions in daily practice.
Key Highlights
Patient Selection & Pre-Procedure: Vascular anatomical characterization, IPSS/QoL score evaluation (prostate) and thyroid volume/function assessment, multi-slice CT/MR angiography planning, and mapping critical non-target embolization risk zones (internal pudendal branch anastomoses, collateral cervical vessels).
Techniques & Application: Detailed case reviews covering radial vs. femoral vascular access, microcatheter superselection, CBCT (Cone-Beam CT) guidance, embolic agent selection (micro-particles, liquid embolics), and end-point optimization.
Complex Cases & Complications: Procedural analysis for challenging scenarios (tortuous vessels, severe arterial atherosclerosis, post-radiation anatomy) alongside crisis management for non-target embolization, acute urinary retention, vascular dissection, and ischemic pain.
Target Audience
Interventional Radiologists
Endocrine and Vascular Surgeons
Urologists and Endocrinologists
Interventional Radiology Fellows and Residents
Angio Suite Coordinators and Interventional Radiology Nurses
Training Specifics
Training Name: Thyroid & Prostatic Embolization Training
Duration: 1 full day
Language: English
Format: Interactive Case Reviews & Clinical Discussion Sessions (fluoroscopy & CBCT navigation software review, microcatheter/microguidewire selection strategies, embolic material deployment review, crisis scenarios)
Assessment Type: Quiz & case-based evaluation
Certificate: Certificate of Completion & CME Credits
Program Venue: ADN CoE Training, Research Center & Core Lab
Additional Benefits
Case-Based Learning: Analyze real-world arterial catheterization steps, embolic agent selection/delivery strategies, and complication management through realistic clinical case reviews.
Interactive Procedural Planning: Evaluate microcatheter manipulation, microguidewire selection, angiographic settings, and vascular closure decisions on complex patient cases.
Non-Target Vascular Mapping: Master fluoroscopic and CBCT identification of prostatic arterial origin variants, inferior thyroid arteries, and dangerous collateral pathways through imaging reviews.
Embolization Endpoint Mastery: Perfect the precise conceptual steps of targeted stasis and flow reduction on real procedural data.
Crisis Management Training: Learn to rapidly respond to arterial spasm, vessel perforation, acute non-target reflux, or severe post-embolization syndrome.
Expert Faculty Guidance: Receive practical technical tips, step-by-step proctoring, and real-time clinical feedback.
Key Benefits
Improved precision in selective microcatheterization planning and microvascular roadmapping.
Safer deployment strategies for embolic agents near critical pelvic and cervical anatomical structures.
Enhanced ability to utilize Cone-Beam CT for target validation and non-target risk reduction.
Greater confidence during first-in-human or early-career embolization procedures.
Strengthened clinical decision-making within multidisciplinary care teams (Radiology, Urology, Endocrinology).
