Surgical Glaucoma Procedures
Theoretical and case-based training focused on surgical management of glaucoma and operative decision-making.

Training Overview
Surgical Glaucoma Procedures is a comprehensive educational program designed to enhance the theoretical knowledge, surgical understanding, and clinical decision-making skills of healthcare professionals involved in the surgical management of glaucoma. Hosted at the ADN CoE Training, Research Center & Core Lab, this two-day program focuses on commonly used glaucoma surgical procedures, emphasizing anatomical understanding, operative principles, and clinical applicability.
The course covers core topics including glaucoma pathophysiology, disease classification, patient selection, preoperative evaluation, surgical indications, and an overview of surgical glaucoma procedures such as trabeculectomy, glaucoma drainage devices, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). Emphasis is placed on surgical planning, intraoperative safety, complication prevention, and postoperative management.
Through expert-led lectures and structured case-based discussions, participants analyze real-world glaucoma cases to better understand surgical strategies, technical considerations, and intraoperative decision-making processes. Training is delivered by experienced glaucoma surgeons, supporting standardized, safe, and quality-oriented surgical practice.
In addition to core sessions, the program includes discussions on surgical workflow optimization, patient safety protocols, long-term intraocular pressure control, and the integration of glaucoma surgical procedures into routine ophthalmic practice. Case-based sessions address common challenges and complications encountered in glaucoma surgery.
By the end of the program, participants will have improved their ability to evaluate glaucoma patients, plan appropriate surgical interventions, and manage postoperative outcomes effectively in clinical practice.
