Palliative & End-of-Life Care Simulation
A two-day, simulation-based program focused on essential palliative symptom management and end-of-life decision-making. Participants practice pain, dyspnea, and communication scenarios using high-fidelity simulations.

Training Overview
Palliative & End-of-Life Care Simulation is a comprehensive, simulation-based training program designed for palliative care specialists, geriatricians, oncologists, intensivists, emergency physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and trainees seeking advanced skills in symptom management, communication, and ethical decision-making at the end of life. This two-day course integrates structured theoretical instruction with immersive, high-fidelity simulation scenarios, emphasizing patient-centered comfort care, complex symptom relief, family communication, and interdisciplinary coordination in high-acuity and chronic care settings.
The program begins with foundational modules on palliative care principles, disease trajectories, symptom physiology, prognostication, psychosocial determinants, and early identification of patients requiring palliative interventions. Participants explore essential concepts including advanced pain management, dyspnea relief, delirium and agitation management, end-of-life nutrition and hydration principles, and the role of cultural, spiritual, and ethical considerations in care planning.
Hands-on simulation sessions allow participants to manage complete palliative and end-of-life scenarios using high-fidelity simulators and structured communication frameworks. Under expert guidance, attendees practice complex symptom management, medication titration, goals-of-care discussions, breaking bad news, family counseling, conflict resolution, and implementation of individualized comfort-care pathways.
Through interactive video cases, scenario-based discussions, and faculty-guided debriefings, participants analyze real-world palliative care challenges while refining high-stakes decision-making for triage, symptom escalation, care transitions, ethical dilemmas, and shared decision-making with patients and families. Structured performance feedback enhances communication precision, empathy delivery, ethical reasoning, and interprofessional collaboration.
By the end of the program, attendees will have developed advanced symptom-management skills, communication mastery, and the clinical confidence required to provide compassionate, high-quality palliative and end-of-life care across diverse healthcare environments.
