Cardiac MR
Online Cardiac MRI Course
A six-month advanced online course combining faculty-guided learning with 150 curated CMR cases

Training Overview
The Online Cardiac MRI Course is a structured, six-month comprehensive education programme designed for physicians seeking to develop systematic skills in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) interpretation, clinical reasoning and reporting.
Organised by ADN Center of Excellence (ADN CoE), the course combines weekly live online faculty sessions, progressive case-based learning on Circle CVI42, structured reporting assignments, direct faculty feedback and a 150-case digital logbook. The educational model is designed to support active participation throughout the programme rather than passive attendance at isolated lectures.
Participants progress from CMR fundamentals and normal anatomy to common pathological findings and advanced or uncommon cases. The curriculum addresses image quality, sequence selection, ventricular function, myocardial tissue characterisation, ischaemic heart disease, cardiomyopathies, inflammatory and infiltrative disease, valvular and congenital heart disease, cardiac masses, pericardial disease and the integration of CMR findings into clinical decision-making.
Each case is reviewed through a consistent framework that includes the clinical question, protocol selection, image-quality assessment, systematic interpretation, quantitative measurements, differential diagnosis, clinically relevant conclusions and structured report preparation.
The course is fully online. Participants can join from their own country and complete the programme through scheduled live sessions, independent case review, reporting assignments and faculty-led feedback.
The first live session is scheduled for 15 October 2026 at 19:00 London Time. The complete session calendar and access instructions will be communicated to registered participants before the course begins.
Official Registration:
Registration is completed only after ADN CoE confirms the participant's eligibility, place and payment status in writing.

Educational Approach
Course Structure
The Online Cardiac MRI Course is delivered over 26 weeks (approximately six months) and combines structured theoretical teaching with practical CMR case interpretation, analysis and reporting. The course includes a curated library of 150 CMR cases covering the principal areas of contemporary clinical CMR practice. The distribution of cases between the two phases may vary according to teaching priorities, case complexity and educational objectives, while the overall course portfolio will comprise 150 CMR cases.
During Weeks 1–16, course materials and relevant topic-specific CMR cases will be made available through the online platform for review and reporting practice. Live online sessions will combine focused theoretical teaching, faculty-guided case analysis, image interpretation and structured reporting.
Each live session will typically last approximately 60–90 minutes, depending on the topic, case complexity and educational objectives. The number of cases reviewed during this phase may vary according to the topic, case complexity and teaching requirements.
During Weeks 17–26, the programme will transition to the Intensive Case Reporting & Faculty Review Phase, with greater emphasis on case interpretation, quantitative assessment, diagnostic reasoning, structured reporting and faculty-led discussion. These sessions will emphasise systematic image interpretation, quantitative assessment, diagnostic reasoning, structured reporting and faculty-led discussion. Session duration will generally be 60–90 minutes and may vary according to the number and complexity of cases reviewed.
Week 1 begins on 15 October 2026. No live sessions will be held on 24 December 2026 or 31 December 2026 during the Christmas and New Year holiday period. Week 11 will resume on 7 January 2027, with weekly sessions continuing thereafter.
Live teaching and case-review sessions will not be recorded. Participants are therefore expected to attend the scheduled live sessions.
Weekly Live Online Sessions
Participants attend scheduled live online sessions led by the course faculty. Sessions combine focused teaching, case presentation, image interpretation, structured reporting and clinical discussion.
Faculty-Guided Case Review
Selected cases are reviewed step by step, with emphasis on how imaging findings are identified, measured, interpreted and communicated.
Independent Case Interpretation
Participants review assigned anonymised cases independently and prepare structured findings and reports before or after designated sessions.
Structured Reporting Practice
Participants develop clear, clinically relevant CMR reports using a consistent reporting framework and appropriate quantitative data.
Direct Faculty Feedback
Faculty feedback addresses image interpretation, measurement accuracy, diagnostic reasoning, differential diagnosis, report structure and clinical relevance.
Digital Case Logbook
Each participant maintains a structured record of completed cases, key findings, diagnosis and reporting progress throughout the six-month course.
Weekly Teaching Program
Note: No live sessions will be held during the Christmas and New Year holiday period. Sessions affected by public holidays or scheduled holiday breaks will resume the following week.

CMR Acquisition Protocols

Circle CVI42 Digital Case Environment
The course's 150-case anonymised educational portfolio will be delivered through Circle CVI42. Participants will use the platform to access and review assigned CMR cases throughout the six-month course period.
Each registered participant will receive an individual Circle CVI42 user account and personal, secure login credentials. Platform access is personal and non-transferable and will remain active for the duration of the course, in accordance with the applicable access and educational-use conditions.
Participants may not share usernames, passwords, images, case data or course materials with another person. All cases are provided solely for authorised educational use.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants should be better able to:
Apply a systematic approach to reviewing a CMR examination
Recognise normal anatomy, normal variants and common artefacts
Evaluate ventricular volumes, function, mass and flow measurements
Interpret common cine, perfusion, mapping and late-enhancement findings
Identify characteristic patterns in ischaemic and non-ischaemic myocardial disease
Integrate morphology, function and tissue characterisation into a reasoned differential diagnosis
Select clinically relevant findings for inclusion in the final report
Prepare structured, concise and clinically meaningful CMR reports
Communicate limitations, uncertainty and recommendations appropriately
Maintain a structured case logbook demonstrating longitudinal learning
Completion of this course supports structured CMR education and professional development. Requests for deferral to a future cohort are reviewed individually and remain subject to availability, programme policy and any applicable administrative conditions.
Course fees may not be transferred to another course, programme or service unless expressly approved in writing by ADN CoE.
Course Schedule Changes, Postponement or Cancellation
ADN CoE may reasonably modify session dates, faculty allocation, curriculum sequence or the online delivery schedule when necessary because of faculty availability, technical circumstances or other operational requirements.
Participants will be informed as early as reasonably possible of a material schedule change. Where ADN CoE cancels the course rather than rescheduling it, the applicable refund or transfer options will be governed by the ADN CoE registration and payment policy.
Faculty Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Faculty members are required to disclose relevant financial or commercial relationships in accordance with applicable educational standards. Scientific discussion and educational decisions remain independent of commercial interests.
Content Independence
The scientific curriculum is developed according to current clinical evidence, accepted CMR principles and faculty expertise. Participation in the course does not constitute approval of a commercial product, and educational content is not designed as commercial promotion.
Evaluation and Feedback
Participants will be invited to complete course evaluations during and after the programme. Feedback is used to improve the scientific content, educational platform and participant experience.
Quality Assurance
Course content is periodically reviewed and updated to reflect developments in CMR techniques, clinical evidence, reporting standards and contemporary cardiovascular imaging practice.
Sponsorship and Educational Support Transparency
Where commercial sponsorship or educational support exists, relevant disclosures will be communicated appropriately. Sponsors do not independently control the curriculum, participant assessment or faculty conclusions.
