Interventional Neuroradiology
Neurovascular Complications & Crisis Management Simulation
A two-day, simulation-based neurovascular emergency program at ADN CoE focused on mastering complication recognition, rapid crisis management, and evidence-based rescue strategies during endovascular procedures.

Training Overview
Neurovascular Complications & Crisis Management Simulation is an intensive, simulation-based educational program designed for interventional neuroradiologists, neuroendovascular specialists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, and physicians involved in complex cerebrovascular interventions. This two-day course integrates structured theoretical instruction with high-fidelity, hands-on crisis simulation to enhance proficiency in recognizing, managing, and resolving neurovascular complications encountered during endovascular procedures.
The program begins with comprehensive sessions on complication classification, risk stratification, hemodynamic instability, device-related failures, and imaging-based detection of procedural hazards. Participants review current evidence, emergency response algorithms, and rescue techniques essential for ensuring patient safety during high-risk neurovascular interventions.
Hands-on simulation modules immerse participants in realistic neurovascular crisis scenarios using advanced simulators replicating intracranial anatomy, catheter behavior, and emergent complication development. Attendees practice managing vessel perforation, thromboembolic events, device entrapment, vasospasm, contrast reactions, hemorrhagic conversion, and access-site emergencies under expert supervision. Faculty-led debriefings reinforce technical strategies, situational awareness, and structured communication during high-pressure events.
Interactive workshops and case-based discussions challenge participants to interpret acute imaging changes, select the most appropriate rescue techniques, and develop stepwise plans for resolving complex procedural complications. Participants also learn team-coordination frameworks, escalation pathways, cognitive aids, and crisis resource management strategies used in advanced neurointerventional centers.
By the end of the course, attendees will be equipped with the technical, cognitive, and behavioral skills required to respond rapidly, safely, and effectively to neurovascular complications—ultimately improving procedural outcomes and patient safety in neuroendovascular practice.
