Machine Learning in Neuroimaging
A two-day, simulation-based training at ADN CoE designed to provide hands-on experience in applying machine learning techniques to neuroimaging data for advanced diagnostic and research applications.

Training Overview
Machine Learning in Neuroimaging Training is an advanced, practice-oriented educational program developed for neurologists, radiologists, data scientists, and imaging researchers who aim to integrate artificial intelligence into neuroimaging workflows. This two-day course offers a comprehensive understanding of how machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) techniques can be applied to neuroimaging modalities such as MRI, CT, and PET for improved diagnosis, segmentation, and prediction of neurological diseases.
The program begins with foundational sessions covering neuroimaging principles, data preprocessing, and machine learning fundamentals, including supervised and unsupervised methods. Participants then progress to deep learning concepts such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs), feature extraction, and model optimization tailored to brain imaging datasets.
Through simulation-based training, participants engage in interactive coding and image analysis sessions using real-world neuroimaging data. They will build and evaluate predictive models for applications like brain tumor detection, Alzheimer’s classification, lesion segmentation, and functional connectivity mapping under expert guidance.
Hands-on workshops provide experience with key tools such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and medical imaging libraries, enabling participants to handle the entire workflow—from data cleaning to visualization and model deployment. Case-based discussions bridge clinical relevance and computational techniques, helping participants understand the translational impact of AI in neuroimaging diagnostics and research.
By the end of the training, participants will have the technical and analytical competence to independently develop, validate, and interpret machine learning models in neuroimaging, fostering collaboration between clinical experts and data scientists.
