Interventional Urology
Interventional Oncology in Urology: Ablation & Targeted Therapy Techniques
A two-day immersive, simulation-based training designed to advance urologists’ skills in interventional oncology, focusing on ablation and targeted therapy techniques with expert-guided hands-on practice.

Training Overview
Interventional Oncology in Urology: Ablation & Targeted Therapy Techniques is an intensive, simulation-based educational program created for urologists, interventional radiologists, and surgical fellows seeking to master minimally invasive oncologic procedures in the urinary tract. Hosted at ADN CoE Training, Research Center & Core Lab, this two-day course integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice using high-fidelity simulators and real-world clinical scenarios.
The program starts with comprehensive sessions on tumor biology, imaging-guided intervention principles, and patient selection criteria for ablative and targeted therapies. Participants explore techniques including radiofrequency ablation, microwave ablation, cryoablation, and focal laser therapy, with guidance on perioperative planning and complication prevention.
Hands-on simulation modules allow attendees to perform precise tumor targeting, probe placement, energy delivery, and post-procedure assessment using advanced simulation platforms. Faculty-led instruction emphasizes real-time imaging guidance, safe navigation of urologic anatomy, and management of potential complications such as hemorrhage, thermal injury, and adjacent organ damage.
Interactive workshops and case-based discussions provide opportunities to analyze anonymized patient datasets, interpret imaging for treatment planning, and evaluate procedural outcomes. Participants also learn workflow optimization, multidisciplinary coordination, and integration of ablation procedures into broader oncologic care pathways.
By the end of the course, participants will have developed the technical expertise, clinical judgment, and confidence to perform image-guided ablation and targeted therapy procedures safely and effectively in a real-world urologic oncology setting.
