Emerging Transcatheter Technologies: LAA, Paravalvular Leak, Valve-in-Valve
A hands-on, simulation-based training program on LAA closure, Paravalvular Leak repair, and Valve-in-Valve implantation empowering interventional cardiologists with the latest transcatheter technologies and procedural expertise.

Training Overview
Emerging Transcatheter Technologies: LAA, Paravalvular Leak, Valve-in-Valve is an advanced and hands-on educational program designed for interventional cardiologists and imaging specialists seeking to master the latest percutaneous treatment modalities beyond standard valve interventions. This two-day course provides comprehensive training on the procedural workflow, device technologies, and imaging guidance for Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) closure, Paravalvular Leak (PVL) closure, and Valve-in-Valve (ViV) procedures.
The course begins with in-depth sessions on pathophysiology, device selection, and multimodality imaging interpretation (CT, TEE, 3D Echo) for accurate procedural planning. Participants learn to evaluate anatomical suitability, plan access routes, and select optimal closure or replacement devices.
Through simulation-based workshops, attendees perform device implantation and deployment on advanced cardiac models that replicate real cath lab scenarios. Exercises include LAA device positioning, PVL closure using plugs or occluders, and transcatheter ViV placement with fluoroscopic and 3D imaging guidance.
Case-based discussions and recorded case demonstrations provide opportunities to review challenging anatomies, procedural complications (such as residual leaks or device embolization), and real-world troubleshooting strategies. Dedicated sessions on post-procedural imaging assessment, anticoagulation management, and long-term patient follow-up further enhance clinical proficiency.
Interactive expert panels enable open discussions on patient selection, evolving device technologies, and integration of these emerging procedures into structural heart programs. By the end of the training, participants will gain the skills and confidence necessary to plan and perform complex transcatheter interventions safely and effectively.
