Echocardiography
Echo in Nephrology & Volume Assessment
A two-day simulation-based echocardiography training at ADN CoE focused on nephrology and volume assessment for optimizing fluid management and renal-cardiac care.

Training Overview
Echo in Nephrology & Volume Assessment Training is a specialized, practice-oriented educational program designed for cardiologists, nephrologists, intensivists, and echocardiography specialists involved in the hemodynamic and volume management of patients with renal and cardiovascular conditions. This two-day course provides an in-depth understanding of the role of echocardiography in evaluating fluid status, cardiac function, and venous congestion for precision-guided therapy.
The program begins with comprehensive sessions on cardiovascular–renal interactions, the principles of fluid balance, and the pathophysiology of volume overload and depletion. Participants learn key echocardiographic parameters used for intravascular volume assessment, including IVC diameter and collapsibility, LV filling pressures, diastolic function indices, and Doppler-derived flow measurements.
Through simulation-based learning, participants gain hands-on experience using advanced echocardiography simulators to assess preload, afterload, and cardiac output in real-time. Simulation workshops include practical modules on dynamic volume responsiveness testing, venous Doppler interpretation (hepatic, portal, renal veins), and integrated cardiac and vascular ultrasound (VExUS) scoring for congestion evaluation.
Case-based discussions with expert faculty provide real clinical scenarios covering acute kidney injury (AKI), heart failure with preserved or reduced ejection fraction, dialysis-related volume shifts, and perioperative volume optimization. Participants interpret real echo and hemodynamic data to guide fluid resuscitation, ultrafiltration, and diuretic therapy decisions.
By the end of the program, attendees will have developed a systematic and evidence-based approach to evaluating and managing volume status using echocardiography—enhancing precision in both nephrology and cardiovascular care.
