Cardiac Imaging
Inside the Vessel: Coronary Imaging & Functional Assessment
A three-day, simulation-based advanced coronary intervention training at ADN CoE focused on mastering IVUS, OCT, and FFR techniques.

Training Overview
IVUS, OCT & FFR Training is an intensive, simulation-based educational program designed for interventional cardiologists and cath lab professionals aiming to master intravascular imaging and physiology-guided coronary intervention. This two-day training provides a deep understanding of the principles, image interpretation, and practical application of Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) in both diagnostic and interventional settings.
The course begins with detailed sessions on coronary anatomy, lesion morphology, and hemodynamic assessment, emphasizing how IVUS, OCT, and FFR complement angiography in evaluating coronary artery disease. Participants learn to identify plaque composition, vessel dimensions, stent apposition, and optimize stent deployment using intravascular imaging.
Through simulation-based learning, participants perform hands-on IVUS and OCT image acquisition and interpretation on advanced simulators replicating real cath lab systems. The program also includes FFR and iFR measurement simulations, guiding participants through pressure wire handling, data acquisition, and physiological lesion assessment.
Case-based discussions cover practical scenarios including complex PCI, bifurcation lesions, left main disease, and restenosis evaluation. Participants review and interpret real-world datasets, analyze pre- and post-intervention images, and make clinical decisions under expert supervision.
Interactive faculty sessions encourage active dialogue on device selection, imaging-driven PCI optimization, and integration of physiology with imaging data for improved patient outcomes. By the end of the course, attendees will possess the technical expertise and clinical insight to confidently apply IVUS, OCT, and FFR in everyday coronary practice.
