Colonoscopy
A two-day, simulation-based program at ADN CoE focused on practical pelvic venous embolization, gonadal catheterization techniques, and procedural decision-making in interventional radiology and venous disease settings.

Training Overview
Colonoscopy Training is a focused, simulation-based educational program designed to strengthen clinical decision-making and technical proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy procedures. This two-day training combines lower gastrointestinal anatomy, lesion pathology, case-based learning, and high-fidelity simulations to support safe, effective, and thorough mucosal inspection and endoscopic intervention.
The program begins with essential modules on mucosal visualization, bowel preparation optimization, and sedation safety protocols. Participants review lesion characterization systems (including Paris classification and NBI/optical chromoendoscopy) and gain a structured approach to identifying subtle polyps, dysplastic tissue, and inflammatory changes in daily practice.
Simulation-based sessions focus on colonoscope navigation, loop reduction maneuvers, and cecal intubation techniques. Hands-on workshops cover tissue sampling, cold and hot snare polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) basics, endoscopic clipping, and thermal hemostasis techniques.
Advanced case discussions address challenging endoscopic scenarios, such as tortuous colons, severe diverticular disease, previous pelvic surgeries, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) surveillance. Integrated simulations emphasize crisis management for acute intraprocedural complications, including post-polypectomy hemorrhage, bowel perforation, and acute vasovagal or sedation-related emergencies.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to confidently perform diagnostic scope navigation, recognize and resect mucosal lesions, and manage or prevent endoscopy-related complications.
