Antimicrobial Stewardship & Rational Prescribing Workshop
A two-day, simulation-based program focused on evidence-based antimicrobial selection and safe prescribing. Participants practice sepsis, MDRO, and diagnostic stewardship scenarios using high-fidelity simulations.

Training Overview
Antimicrobial Stewardship & Rational Prescribing Workshop is a comprehensive, simulation-based training program designed for infectious disease specialists, internists, emergency physicians, intensivists, surgeons, pharmacists, nurses, and trainees seeking expertise in evidence-based antimicrobial selection and stewardship practices. This two-day course integrates structured theoretical sessions with high-fidelity clinical simulation scenarios, emphasizing rapid diagnosis, optimal antimicrobial decision-making, resistance prevention, and interdisciplinary coordination in infection-related clinical emergencies.
The program begins with foundational modules on antimicrobial pharmacology, resistance mechanisms, diagnostic stewardship, host–pathogen interactions, sepsis pathways, viral–bacterial differentiation, and risk stratification for multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs). Participants explore essential principles including optimal dosing strategies, de-escalation pathways, culture interpretation, antibiogram utilization, renal/hepatic dosing considerations, and high-risk prescribing pitfalls.
Hands-on simulation sessions allow participants to manage complete infection-focused emergency scenarios using high-fidelity simulators and rapid diagnostic tools. Under expert guidance, attendees practice sepsis recognition, early empiric therapy selection, escalation and de-escalation decisions, antimicrobial toxicity management, source control prioritization, and stewardship-driven prescribing techniques tailored to varied clinical contexts.
Through interactive video cases, scenario-based discussions, and faculty-led debriefings, participants analyze real-world infectious disease cases while refining high-stakes decision-making for diagnosis, stabilization, targeted antimicrobial use, interdisciplinary coordination, and resistance mitigation. Structured performance feedback enhances clinical reasoning, communication precision, and prescribing safety during complex infection management.
By the end of the program, attendees will have developed advanced antimicrobial decision-making skills, stewardship-oriented clinical reasoning capabilities, and the confidence required to manage infection emergencies and rational prescribing practices across diverse care environments.
