A Cardiac Imaging Fellowship is a specialized program designed for doctors who wish to advance their knowledge and expertise in the field of cardiovascular imaging, with a focus on state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques such as echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography (CT), cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR), and nuclear cardiology. During the fellowship, doctors will work closely with experienced cardiologists, radiologists, and imaging specialists to refine their skills in the evaluation and management of complex cardiovascular conditions.
Through a combination of supervised clinical rotations, structured didactic lectures, and research opportunities, fellows will gain comprehensive exposure to the latest advances in cardiac imaging. They will learn to optimize imaging protocols, interpret advanced imaging data, and integrate findings into clinical decision-making for patients with coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease, and structural interventions.
During the fellowship, doctors will have the opportunity to work with patients who require specialized imaging for procedural planning, including transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), MitraClip procedures, electrophysiological interventions, and surgical planning. Fellows will also strengthen their ability to communicate imaging findings effectively within multidisciplinary Heart Teams, and to contribute to patient-centered treatment strategies.
At the completion of the Cardiac Imaging Fellowship, doctors will be well-prepared to pursue careers in cardiology or radiology with advanced imaging expertise. They will be trained to deliver precise, evidence-based diagnostic insights, support complex interventional and surgical procedures, and lead imaging-based research in the rapidly evolving field of cardiovascular medicine.
