Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship is a specialized program designed for surgeons seeking to advance their expertise in the management of complex cancer cases. This fellowship focuses on the comprehensive care of patients with a wide range of oncologic diseases, including solid tumors and complex surgical cases.

During the fellowship, surgeons will work closely with experienced surgical oncologists to develop their skills in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of various cancers. This includes exposure to a variety of surgical techniques, including minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, and complex open surgeries, to effectively manage complex oncologic cases.

Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, where they will collaborate with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists to develop individualized treatment plans for patients. They will also have access to the latest research and clinical trials in surgical oncology, allowing them to stay at the forefront of cancer care.

Through a combination of clinical rotations, didactic lectures, and research opportunities, fellows will gain a comprehensive understanding of the latest advances in surgical oncology. They will learn how to manage complex cancer cases, conduct thorough patient evaluations, and develop personalized treatment plans that consider a patient's medical history, preferences, and overall health.

At the completion of the Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship, surgeons will be well-equipped to pursue a career as a surgical oncologist. They will have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with cancer, and will be prepared to make complex decisions in the management of oncologic diseases. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to further specialize in a specific area of surgical oncology, such as breast cancer surgery, gastrointestinal cancer surgery, or hepatobiliary surgery.
