Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a crucial technique in medicine, widely used to visualize internal structures, particularly soft tissues. This course focuses on using T1-weighted 3D MRI sequences to calculate volumes and create 3D models of brain structures, utilizing two advanced, AI-supported cloud systems: Mricloud (https://braingps.mricloud.org/) and Volbrain (https://www.volbrain.net/). These user-friendly platforms require participants to register online, convert DICOM images into compatible formats using Mricron, and then upload them to the systems for processing. The course includes hands-on use of ITKsnap for segmentation and 3D visualization, and MricroGL for refining these models. Participants will learn to calculate and model volumes of brain structures like white matter, gray matter, and subcortical areas. The course also covers comparing Volbrain and Mricloud, discussing their advantages, limitations, and recent scientific studies. Designed for professionals in neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, anatomy, and related fields, this course aims to enhance skills in brain imaging, offering valuable tools for research and clinical applications.
