Assoc. Prof. Oguzhan Ekrem Turan is an associate professor of cardiology and a cardiac electrophysiologist at the Department of Cardiology of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in İzmir, Turkey. He possesses expertise in the diagnosis and management of various cardiac arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, and bradycardia. A wide range of procedures is performed by this individual, including cardiac electrophysiological studies, catheter ablations, pacemaker implantations, defibrillator implantations, and cardiac resynchronization therapies.

Graduating with honors from Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2008, he completed his cardiology residency at Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Medicine in 2013. Subsequently, he worked as a lecturer at the same institution until 2018, at which point they joined Dokuz Eylül University as an assistant professor. In 2020, advanced cardiac electrophysiology and ablation training were received at Dokuz Eylül University under the supervision of Professor Emin Evren Ozcan, Ph.D.

He has an extensive academic record, boasting more than 50 publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals, as well as several book chapters, on various topics related to cardiology, with a particular emphasis on arrhythmia and electrophysiology. He have also participated in numerous scientific meetings and congresses, taking on roles as a speaker, moderator, or panelist. Furthermore, he serves as a reviewer for several prestigious journals, including the Journal of Arrhythmia, the Anatolian Journal of Cardiology, and the Turkish Journal of Cardiology.

Active involvement in several professional associations is evident, with memberships in the Turkish Society of Cardiology, the European Heart Rhythm Association, and the Heart Rhythm Society. Additionally, he is engaged in several research projects and clinical trials pertaining to arrhythmia and electrophysiology. In 2022, he successfully passed the EHRA cardiac electrophysiology certification exam and have also collaborated with colleagues in the program of Basic EP training courses for three years.
