Apply to This Fellowship
A Peripheral Interventions in Interventional Cardiology Fellowship is a specialized training program designed for doctors who wish to advance their knowledge and expertise in the field of interventional cardiology, with a specific focus on peripheral vascular disease. During the fellowship, doctors will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced interventional cardiologists to develop their skills in the diagnosis and management of complex peripheral vascular conditions.
Through a combination of clinical rotations, didactic lectures, and research opportunities, fellows will gain a comprehensive understanding of the latest advances in interventional cardiology, including the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for the management of peripheral vascular disease, such as angioplasty, atherectomy, and stenting of the carotid, renal, and lower extremity arteries.
During the fellowship, doctors will also have the opportunity to work with patients who require specialized care, such as those with critical limb ischemia, chronic mesenteric ischemia, and complex renal artery disease. Fellows will learn how to effectively communicate with patients and their families, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.
At the completion of the Peripheral Interventions in Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, doctors will be well-prepared to pursue a career as an interventional cardiologist, with specialized expertise in the management of peripheral vascular disease. Fellows will be trained to deliver compassionate care that is tailored to the unique needs of each individual patient, and will be equipped to make complex decisions in the management of peripheral vascular conditions. They will also have opportunities to pursue further specialization in a specific area of interventional cardiology, such as structural heart disease interventions or congenital heart disease interventions.
